Coatings & Paint

A small addition of BENTEC Organoclay can greatly enhance the rheological properties of the paint system. These properties prevent pigment settling and sagging on vertical surface to ensure the proper thickness of the coating is applied. They also ensure good leveling for the removal of brush marks.
Storage stability is ensured even with high temperatures. BENTEC Organoclays confer water resistance and structure reinforcement with no adverse effect on adhesion and also prevents water separation. Gloss is not affected due to the low levels of addition.

BENTEC Organoclays are used extensively in drilling fluids throughout the world. It is a rheological agent and thixotrope for oils and oil mud to inhibit settling and oil separation. It imparts emulsion stabilizing characteristics to the mud and decreases fluid loss. It also stabilizes mud at high temperatures.

Road Marking Paints

Road Marking Paints

Road marking (also called line marking or pavement marking) can be applied using various materials and paints dependent on the surface and mark being made. These materials each have different properties, such as anti-skid, reflectivity, longevity and performance.

The materials most frequently used in road and floor markings are:

  • Thermoplastic

  • Water-based paint

  • MMA

  • Epoxy resin

Thermoplastic road marking paint is the most favoured material for road marking due to it being hard-wearing and reflective, making it ideal for high-traffic roads and highways. It is applied to the road surface by spray after heating to 180 degrees Celsius, which is why it’s sometimes called hot melt marking paint or hot tape.

For extra surface friction and reflectivity, glass beads and fillers are often added to the paint to improve safety. Pre-formed thermoplastic tape can also be used for line marking.

BENTEC PC-1 provides thixotropy and pigment suspension in organic systems which contain aliphatic solvents and aliphatic/aromatic solvent mixes. PC-1 finds use in oil-based paints and varnishes, epoxy systems, alkyd enamels, and primers.

BENTEC PC-1 is designed to provide suitable rheology in finished systems.

BENTEC P-2 provides good pigment suspension and thixotropic flow control in a range of paints that include aromatic solvents, chlorinated rubber formulations and most alkyd-based formulations.

Volatiles (Moisture): 4% Maximum

BENTEC D-1 allows for viscosity and gel-forming characteristics in crude oils, diesel oils, mineral oils, and oil mud.

- It imparts rheological properties to the oil mud which increases the mud’s
carrying and hole cleaning ability.

- It imparts emulsion stabilizing characteristics to the mud and decreases fluid loss.

- It also stabilizes mud at high temperatures.

BENTEC D-1 is an organophilic drilling mud clay. It is a rheological agent and thixotrope for oils and oil mud to inhibit settling and oil separation. BENTEC D-1 is suitable for drilling fluid based on mineral and other low toxicity oils as well as diesel & crude oils.

BENTEC PL-C

BENTEC PL-C is a high viscosity, economical, rheological additive for water-based systems. It is an economically efficient thickener that also provides very high viscosity build-up, good pigment suspension, and anti-sag control.

BENTEC PL-C may be used in synthetic plaster (putty), Acrylic & Oil Bound Distemper, Cement Primer, and Foundery Core Washes.

BENTEC PL-B plus is an efficient thickener in a number of water-based systems including those where some polar and low molecular weight solvents are used, such as methanol, ethanol, and glycol. It also provides excellent sag control, maintains good leveling properties & provides good pigment suspension.

BENTEC PL-B plus may be used in Sand Textured Matt, Acrylic based Exterior Paints, Cement Primer, Latex and Industrial Paints, adhesives paper coatings, textile backing, bath emulsions, cleaners and polishes.
